ELAC English Learner Orientation and Elections – August 30th

ELAC Orientation and Election

August 30, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. in the school auditorium

You are encouraged to make a difference in the governance of our school by participating in this year’s English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC).  The English Learner Advisory Committee is mandated under the California Education Code and is directed by LAUSD policy.  All schools with 21 or more English Learner students are required to establish an ELAC.  The ELAC represents parents and legal guardians of EL students, who must constitute at least 51 percent of the membership.  ELACs advise on programs and services for EL students.  An ELAC Orientation and Election Meeting has been scheduled to provide you with an understanding of the purpose of the ELAC and to explain the election process.
